Costin to meet with Waterhouse stable

Monday 5 January 2015, 5:15pm

Leading Sydney apprentice Winona Costin will try to repair her relationship with Gai Waterhouse after being stood down from the stable.

Costin was interviewed on Monday by Racing NSW stewards after the matter was brought to their attention.

The 20-year-old is serving a suspension and the incident which prompted her sacking occurred at trackwork last week.

Stewards said Costin would meet with senior personnel from the Waterhouse stable in an endeavour to resolve matters with a view of continuing with her apprenticeship with Waterhouse.

With 21 Sydney winners this season, Costin is sixth on the metropolitan premiership and 13 wins clear of the next apprentice, Taylor Marshall.
