Newitt granted earlier start in Singapore

Jockey Craig Newitt has been granted a three-week licence by the Singapore Turf Club to wind up the 2014 racing year.

After scoring a winning double at Sandown on Saturday for Jason Warren aboard Sang Choi Bao and Danger Close, Newitt is leaving Australia to take up a six month contract in Singapore.

Originally licensed to ride in Singapore from January 1 through to June 30, Newitt has been granted an additional licence for the last three weeks of the year.

Newitt can now takes rides at the season's final two meetings at Kranji on Friday and Sunday as well as ride track work in the lead-up to the opening of the new season in Singapore on January 1.
