Apprentice jockey Jake Bayliss had a lucky escape from more serious injury following a fall at Flemington on Friday morning.
It was feared Bayliss had broken his leg until scans revealed severe bruising.
A horse Bayliss was riding reared and toppled over at the Flemington jump-outs, landing on top of him.
The injury has forced Bayliss to forego his four rides at Moonee Valley tomorrow but he hopes to return to riding at Sandown on Saturday week.
