Oliver wins record eighth Scobie Breasley

Monday 24 August 2015, 7:02am

Damien Oliver remains committed to adding to his riding record but admits it is not getting any easier.

Oliver collected a record eighth Scobie Breasley Medal for riding excellence in Victoria on Sunday night.

The 42-year-old overhauled Dwayne Dunn and Craig Williams late in the season to also win his 10th Melbourne jockeys premiership.

"I'm getting towards the end and it won't be long until it's over," Oliver said.

"I'm in the home straight of my career so I've got to make every post a winner.

"I'm getting towards the end I want to enjoy it. Craig Williams and Dwayne Dunn kept pushing me on and the next generation behind keep pushing us on.

The award is decided by stewards who rate the best rides at each meeting on a 3-2-1 basis.
