Andreas Wohler-trained horse wins Kergolay

Melbourne Cup winning trainer Andreas Wohler may have another contender on his hands with Alex My Boy winning the Prix Kergolay in France.

On Sunday night, the German collected the Fred Hoysted Award for the training performance of last season in Melbourne for Protectionist's Cup win.

A few hours later, Alex My Boy won the Group Two Prix Kergolay (3000m) at Deauville, a race won by Protectionist before he came to Australia.

Americain also won the race in 2010 before he claimed the Melbourne Cup.
