Damien Oliver wins eighth Breasley Medal

Jockey Damien Oliver has won a record eighth Scobie Breasley Medal for his efforts during the season which included a 10th Melbourne premiership.

Oliver received maximum votes at four of the final six metropolitan meetings of 2014-15 season as he battled out the premiership with Dwayne Dunn and Craig Williams.

The Scobie Breasley Medal was established in 1996 and honours the late Hall of Fame jockey, with Racing Victoria stewards voting on a 3-2-1 basis at each metropolitan meeting.

Oliver scored 51 points for the season, overhauling Dunn and finishing 12 ahead of Williams.
