Kermadec has made the short journey from his stable to Rosehill racetrack for a work-out his trainer believes will perk him up ahead of his first-up assignment.
Chris Waller chose to give the Doncaster Mile winner a solo gallop after race one on Saturday to change his routine a week out from the Group Two Warwick Stakes.
With Tye Angland aboard, Kermadec worked over 1000 metres, covering the distance in 1:02.8 seconds, his last 600m in 35.25s.
But what happened when Angland unsaddled the horse pleased Waller the most.
"A lot of hair came out. Tye's girth was covered in it. That means Kermadec's winter is over and his coat is turning," Waller said.
"A day out like this stimulates horses and you will see that next Saturday.
"He would have had to gallop this morning anyway but the whole race day experience is different."
Kermadec's Doncaster-winning jockey Glen Boss will make the trip from Melbourne to ride the horse, one of eight runners Waller expects to have in the Warwick Stakes (1400m) at Randwick.
