Strong win for Justiceforall

Monday 16 March 2015, 4:26pm

Consistent galloper Justiceforall notched up his 4th win yesterday, taking out the last race on the card at Yarra Valley on Yarra Valley Cup Day.

Trained by John and Chris Ledger for BlueBlood Thoroughbreds, the 4yo gelding by Not A Single Doubt lumped a hefty 60kg to finish the 1950m event in 2.00.89, only 0.07 of a second slower than that of Index Linked in the Yarra Valley Cup over the same distance.

Jockey Damian Lane produced nothing less than a first class ride, giving Justiceforall every opportunity to win. He made good use of barrier one and gave Justiceforall the gun run in the box seat before gutsily pushing his way through the smallest of gaps in the straight.

Justiceforall showed plenty of determination to bust his way through, finishing strong to the line to win by 0.2 lengths.

Trainer John Ledger commented “Justiceforall was superb and it was a brilliant ride from Damian Lane”.

The Adrian Ledger Memorial Handicap (2400m) at Albury on the 27th of March was always the main goal for Justiceforall this preparation but with the strong win yesterday, he may just receive too much weight for the BM 65 event and John and Chris Ledger may opt to race him in the listed Albury Gold Cup (2000) instead.

The Adrian Ledger Memorial is a race that is very dear to the hearts of the Ledger family; named of course after John Ledger’s son Adrian who was killed in a fall 10 years ago. Justiceforall ran 3rd in the race last year but is racing in much better form leading into the race this time around.

“We will know more in a few days (of which race he will run in) when the handicapper gives him a rating. He may have to carry too much weight for Adrian’s race and he may not make the field in the Albury Cup but we will just have wait and see” said John.

Congratulations to all the connections in Justiceforall for a great win yesterday.
