Jay Ford emerged as the lone jockeys' room casualty after a complicated protest hearing at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Ford was outed for careless riding in the wash-up to stewards hearing two objections after the TAB.com.au Maiden Plate (1100m).

He was suspended for five meetings for causing interference on Supreme Joy which finished second to Contrite Heart.

The ban will start on Thursday week and he will be out of the saddle until July 21.

Despite falling foul of stewards, Ford survived a protest from Nash Rawiller, the rider of third placegetter Amanpour.

In turn, Tim Martin, the trainer of fourth placegetter Let's Frolic, lodged an unsuccessful protest against Rawiller aboard Amanpour for causing interference over the final 100m.

Contrite Heart continued a winning run for her trainer Grahame Begg who has now prepared a winner at each of the past three city meetings.
