The 2014 Grand National Steeplechase winner Wells is among 14 nominations for this year's edition at Ballarat along with recent Crisp Steeplechase winner I'll'ava'alf.

Sunday's $350,000 Grand National Steeple over 4500 metres is the feature event on a card which includes six jumps races and two highweight handicaps.

The meeting also includes the Australia vs Ireland Jumps Challenge which comprises three jumps races - two maiden hurdles and the 3200m Open steeplechase.

I'll'ava'alf won an incident-packed Crisp Steeplechase last start at Sandown, a traditional lead-up to the Grand National.

Wells finished third to Sea King in the Mosstrooper Steeplechase at Bendigo last month.

Patrick Payne has three jumpers among the nominations, Grand Annual winner No Song No Supper, Zed Em and Slowpoke Rodriguez.

Grand National Hurdle winner Zanteco is among 12 entries for the J J Houlahan Hurdle (3200m).
