Buffering to target Hong Kong Group One

Saturday 28 November 2015, 3:57pm

Star sprinter Buffering will miss Royal Ascot next year so he can have a second attempt at winning in Hong Kong.

Buffering is now likely to round off his season in the Group One Chairman's Prize Sprint at Sha Tin on May 1.

The eight-year-old scored his sixth Group One win in the Winterbottom Stakes in Perth last week and arrived back in Brisbane on Thursday.

He will have a two-week break before being set for the $1 million QTIS Magic Millions race at the Gold Coast on January 9.

Trainer Robert Heathcote had then intended to send Buffering to Dubai for a 1000m feature sprint on March 26.

"I have always wanted to win a race in Hong Kong," Heathcote said.
