Five internationally-trained horses remain in the Caulfield Cup after third acceptances for the $3 million handicap.

A total of 38 horses have been paid up for at the latest declaration stage for Saturday week's 2400m feature.

English horse Snow Sky, Japanese stayers Fame Game and Hokko Brave, Ascot Gold Cup winner Trip To Paris and the Roger Charlton-trained Quest For More are the remaining northern hemisphere entries.

Final acceptances for the race are taken next Tuesday.

Chris Waller could have six Cox Plate runners with Kermadec, Winx, Preferment, Press Statement, Royal Descent, and Who Shot The Barman among the 36 third acceptors for the weight-for-age feature at Moonee Valley on October 24.

Arod, Gailo Chop and Highland Reel are the three international entries left while Press Statement is one of three Caulfield Guineas runners still in the Cox Plate.

There are 15 internationally-trained horses among the 82 first acceptances for the Melbourne Cup.

The country's best sprinters are among 24 in the $1 million Manikato Stakes (1200m) on October 23, with last year's winner Lankan Rupee, Chautauqua, Terravista, Exosphere and Buffering headlining the entries.
