O'Shea requests Holler, Shards be swabbed

Saturday 12 September 2015, 5:55pm

Godolphin trainer John O'Shea has asked stewards to swab Holler and Shards following their sub-par performances in the Golden Rose won by stablemate Exosphere.

Shards and Holler finished second last and last respectively in the Saturday's $1 million Group One race.

O'Shea told stewards Holler in particular was nervous in the minutes before the race.

"When we went to put the saddle on Holler, he started to scowl, which is bizarre," O'Shea said.

"All the KPIs we use as to what's going on with the horse were all normal - blood normal, tension normal, worked beautiful, ate everything.

"Something has gone grossly awry there for both horses."

O'Shea said his staff was monitoring the pair of colts closely.
