Brave Beasley sidelined by chest injuries

Wednesday 26 August 2015, 4:30pm

Danny Beasley is one tough jockey.

The Sydney-based hoop thought he was simply winded when a horse rolled on him at the Hawkesbury barrier trials on Monday so he dusted himself off and headed to Gosford a day later for three race rides.

"He rode at Gosford yesterday under duress then asked to see the doctor after the last race and the doctor advised him to get some scans," steward Greg Rudolph said.

"Unfortunately he's got a broken rib and a partially collapsed lung."

Beasley missed Wednesday's Warwick Farm meeting and the injury will keep him out of an international jockeys' challenge in Korea this weekend.

Rudolph said Beasley was unsure how long he would be sidelined but it could be up to a month.
