Cassidy rides first winner since May

Saturday 22 August 2015, 6:09pm

Hall of Fame jockey Jim Cassidy has won his first race since he partnered subsequent Group One winner Press Statement to victory at Rosehill in May.

In his sixth meeting since returning from an injury lay-off, Cassidy rode the Chris Waller-trained Loophole to a win in the Randwick City Mayor's Cup at Randwick on Saturday.

Cassidy settled Loophole just behind the leaders and turned for home in fourth with clear running.

Loophole was too strong in the straight, making it back-to-back wins at the track and distance.

Waller said Loophole was a possible runner in next month's Wyong Gold Cup.
