Robert Thompson chasing fifth Ramornie

Wednesday 8 July 2015, 7:12am

Champion jockey Robert Thompson heads to Grafton chasing his second country feature in two days.

Thompson rode Youthful King to win his 11th Jungle Juice Cup on home turf at Cessnock on Tuesday and a day later is seeking his fifth win in the Listed Ramornie Handicap.

The Hall Of Fame jockey looked in danger of not having a mount when trainer Rodney Northam elected not defend the Listed sprint with Big Money.

But Thompson was quickly snapped up by Peter and Paul Snowden to ride Ramornie favourite I've Got The Looks.

Thompson wins have been on The Jackal (2007, 2008), Youthful Jack (2013) and Big Money.

"We're lucky to have Robert aboard. We just need some luck and a good ride," Peter Snowden said.

"She's a very determined mare, gives everything in her races and doesn't hold anything back."
