Jockey Chad Schofield is taken with the way high-class filly Earthquake is tracking towards the Oakleigh Plate.
The three-year-old had her second trial in preparation for her return to racing when successful over 800m at Cranbourne on Monday.
The daughter of Exceed And Excel, winner of last year's Blue Diamond Stakes, ran 45.79secs, 0.15secs quicker than Lankan Rupee's winning time in an earlier heat.
Schofield said the filly was right on target for the Group One Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on February 28.
"Her last jump-out here we were a bit quieter on her with it being her first one," Schofield said.
"Today she responded well and she couldn't have trialled much better really.
"She clicked up through her gears nicely under limited pressure and no doubt she's ready to fly with no weight on her back in the Oakleigh Plate."
Earthquake is undefeated in three runs on the Caulfield circuit.
Besides winning last year's Blue Diamond Stakes, Earthquake won a Blue Diamond Prelude over the Oakleigh Plate trip and last spring took out the Group Three Thoroughbred Club Stakes over 1200m.
