Crismale re-elected to racing club board

Thursday 27 November 2014, 5:37pm

Chairman Michael Crismale is one of three directors to have retained their position on the board of the Australian Turf Club (ATC) following a vote by members.

It was the first time members have been able to vote for the four Club-appointed directors since a merger between the Australian Jockey Club and the Sydney Turf Club to form the ATC.

Bill Evans and Steve Grant also retained their spots on the board with prominent owner Julia Ritchie the fresh face on the team.

Ritchie, the daughter of renowned racing administrator Bill Ritchie, was a director of the Australian Jockey Club for 11 years.

The election results were announced at the ATC's annual general meeting on Thursday.

Three independent positions on the seven-person board are yet to be filled.

They will be selected by racing minister Troy Grant following recommendations from a government-appointed selection panel.

The new board is due to meet on February 1 when a chairman and deputy will be elected.
