Kissed living up to her Destiny

Friday 18 September 2015, 12:14pm

It took almost four years to get Kissed By Destiny to the races and the mare has rewarded trainer Darren Bell and her owners Dave and Maggie Levy for their patience.

The six-year-old will be chasing her fourth win from six starts in the Christmas At The Races Hcp (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday.

Kissed By Destiny came to Bell as an early two-year-old but it wasn't until July this year she made her race debut, running fifth in a Sunshine Coast maiden.

"She continually went shin sore and then she had soreness across her pelvis," Bell said.

"When we overcame those problems she turned out to be a barrier rogue.

"In desperation we sent her down to (trainer) Tony Crane at Beaudesert, He put hours of work into her and she finally got her barrier ticket."

Kissed by Destiny has now won three of her past four starts including her most recent over 1350 metres at Doomben on September 9.

"I am really pleased for Dave and Maggie. They have been so patient with her and they know how good she could be," Bell said.

"They bred and raced her mother and grandmother so it has been a family affair."

Kissed By Destiny is the second favourite on Saturday behind the Tony Gollan-trained Max It Out.
