Nine to run in the $1 million Golden Rose

Tuesday 8 September 2015, 9:41am

Favourites Exosphere and Press Statement have drawn barriers two and three respectively in the nine-horse field for the $1 million Golden Rose.

Exosphere is one of three runners for Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin operation with Shards drawing barrier six and Holler five in Sydney's first Group One race of the new season.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Speak Fondly will run from barrier four as she tries to add to her two wins this season in the Silver Shadow and Furious Stakes.

Hong Kong-based Australian Brett Prebble will ride Speak Fondly.

The race is without star colts, former favourite Vancouver and Pride Of Dubai, who will both miss the spring carnivals in Sydney and Melbourne.
