Flashy mare I've Got The Looks scored a clear win over the handicapper at Doomben on Saturday.
I've Got The Looks ($4.60) made it two wins from two starts for Sydney training combination Peter and Paul Snowden when she beat stablemate Dublin Lass ($4.20) by a short neck in the Listed Juanmo Stakes.
Brisbane filly Traveston Lass ($2.60), a heavily backed favourite, led into the straight before finishing third.
Peter Snowden admitted he thought I've Got The Looks had been beaten by the handicapper who gave the mare 4kg more in the Juanmo than she carried to win the Silk Stocking at the Gold Coast at her previous start.
"She is a tough little thing. I really feared the handicapper had got her today," Snowden said.
"But she drew barrier one and that probably made the difference."
Snowden has I've Got the Looks in Brisbane for fillies and mares races but will now look at even bigger events.
"I will have a little think and see where we go," Snowden said,.
I've Got the Looks was trained by the late Guy Walter and then a for a short period by his widow Wendy.
"She was sent to me in great fettle and she is a credit to them," Snowden said.
Jockey Blake Shinn completed a winning double on I've Got The Looks and saluted his great friend Walter after the horses crossed the line.
Snowden will also press on with winter fillies and mares races for Dublin Lass.
"She got flushed out a bit early but I was very pleased with her run," Snowden said.
