Kermadec is a confirmed starter in the Australian Guineas at Flemington after he was scratched from a Group One assignment in Sydney.
The Hobartville Stakes placegetter was a dual acceptor for the Australian and Randwick Guineas, which will be held on the same day this year.
He was expected to run in Melbourne and that was confirmed on Wednesday when the Chris Waller stable withdrew him from Randwick.
Kermadec will be Waller's lone Australian Guineas runner while Victoria Derby winner Preferment will represent the leading Sydney trainer in the Randwick Guineas.
