Brett Prebble to ride Wandjina in Guineas

Wednesday 4 March 2015, 11:53am

Hong Kong-based Brett Prebble has picked up the ride on the Gai Waterhouse-trained Wandjina in Saturday's Group One Australian Guineas at Flemington.

Prebble replaces Damien Oliver after he failed in his appeal against a careless riding suspension.

A field of 16 plus one emergency has accepted for the Australian Guineas with C S Hayes Stakes winner Wandjina drawing barrier 10.

Emerging colt Alpine Eagle, who is set to back up from a Group Two win at Caulfield last Saturday, has drawn well in seven.

Chris Waller has paid up for Kermadec in the Australian Guineas and the Randwick Guineas in Sydney but the last-start Hobartville Stakes placegetter is expected to run at Flemington from gate eight.

Disposition, who had been prominent in Australian Guineas market, was not paid up for the Group One after suffering a setback at trackwork.
