Description

ROTHESAY is an extremely talented son of Champion Sire FASTNET ROCK and closely related to successful sire CANNY LAD. He had his first yearlings sell in 2014. Up until mid-March he’s had 28 to sell, and they are averaging $60,000. Notable purchasers of his yearlings have included Star Thoroughreds/Chris Waller (3), Peter Moody, Mick Price, Darren Weir, David Hayes, Tony Gollan (2), Bjorn Baker and Tony McEvoy. ROTHESAY’S base, Glenlogan Park Stud, have developed a tremendous reputation for sourcing a stallion. Looks like they could be on another winner in ROTHESAY! When scanning through that list of trainers, you know his progeny are going to get every conceivable chance
.
SHARP AND SASSY was a genuine racehorse. She rarely failed to pick up a cheque, finishing in the first five in over 75% of her career starts. Most of these were in Metropolitan company in Perth, and on two occasions in Listed Races
.
DON’T SAY HALO, SHARP AND SASSY’S sire, has been a very successful broodmare sire, his daughters having produced the likes of Group 1 winners GOLD GURU, AL MAHER, SHAMEKHA and current star 3yo EUROZONE
.
SHARP AND SASSY is a half-sister to dual Listed Race winner KEY TARGET, the grand dam of WA Oaks winner/Group 1 placed IMPRESSIVE JEUNEY. Her dam is a sister to Group 3 winner STRAY BULLET, grand-dam of Group 2 winner GLORY HUNTER
.
SHARP AND SASSY’S first foal to be offered for sale realised $110,000 at the 2012 Gold Coast Magic Millions to successful syndicator Rob Slade. Now named IDOL FACTOR, he is winner in Victoria this season. Her next live foal, a 2012 NICCONI colt was picked up at the 2014 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, ironically by another successful syndicator in Shelley Hancox. The mare has a ROTHESAY colt just weaned off her and is back in foal to ROTHESAY
.
Her first yearling sold for $110,000 and is a winner this season. She’s in foal to a stallion who is currently averaging $60,000 at the 2014 yearling sales and whose stock have been purchased by the best trainers in the land. At her current asking price of $33,000, there’s probably not too much downside on SHARP AND SASSY, and most likely only upside if ROTHESAY fires up.
