Description

A tall rangy gelding by the first season speed sire NOSTRADAMUS, a son of the champion sire MEDAGLIA d’ORO and high class broodmare Leone Chiara, making him a half-brother to the dual Group 1 winning Champion two and three year-old, and successful sire STAR WITNESS.
On the racetrack, the $500,000 Easter yearling NOSTRADAMUS won his first start as a 2yo up the Flemington straight, winning the Nursery by an impressive two and a quarter lengths, against a quality field which included future dual Group 1 winner STRATUM STAR. In a high quality season of 3yo’s, he won the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes at Rosehill, defeating another hot field which included the G1 winning 3yo and now sire WANDJINA, before finishing 2nd behind BRAZEN BEAU in the G2 Roman Consul, beating Group 1 winners DELECTATION and HALLOWED CROWN as well as the Group 2 winner and now exciting stallion TIME FOR WAR. He would later that season win the G3 Gold Coast Guineas, again beating TIME FOR WAR. He would win the G3 Irwin Stakes the following season before joining his famous half-brother STAR WITNESS, being retired to stud. The blueblood stallion to stand at Rosemont in Victoria.
Though only yearlings, his first crop have been outstanding individuals as you’d expect from the strapping son of MEDAGLIA d’ORO, with the progeny well-received and entering some of Australia’s best stables. This gelding is a good walker with a big stride and covers a lot of ground.
