If a photo could speak, then this photo of the Invader filly would tell a story and become a classic. She is in the mould of her sire Invader, a short coupled sprinting type. Invader as a first season sire has had 4 to run for 3 winners and this filly looks as if she will get up and go early and will be given every chance to run as a 2yo. She will be trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, arguably the best 2yo trainers in Australia.

This filly walks with purpose, nicely balanced, athletic and a speed machine. She has good bone, good angles and a powerful hindquarter. She has an intelligent head and a well-defined top line which you would see in all the top class sprinters. A filly that ticks all the boxes.

Our filly is closely related to 12 individual stakes winners. True Nicks rating A++ and also Goldmine rating of 20/20. There are 11 Individual Group 1 winners bred on the same pattern including, MISS FINLAND, THE AUTUMN SUN and LANKAN RUPEE.

She has passed our clinical examination.

INVADER A Champion son of Champion Sire Snitzel, Invader’s victory in the Group 1 Sires’ Produce Stakes during his juvenile season was nothing short of sensational. In what was one of the strongest fields in the history of the race, Invader defeated fellow Group 1-winning Snitzel colt Summer Passage, with subsequent Champion 3YO and four-time Group 1 winner Trapeze Artist, also by Snitzel, back in third.

Invader has the all-important Australian market requirements of precocity, speed and conformation being by Snitzel out of a black-type Encosta de Lago mare he is positioned to continue the legacy of Champion Sires Danehill, Redoute’s Choice and Snitzel before him and become the next sire-sensation in Australia.

As the highest Time form rated 2YO in history by his sire, Invader has been highly sought after.

“He was a stand-out! Invader was a well-made, strong, short-coupled colt as a yearling. An attractive colt with power, he caught the eye. He had the look of a two-year-old, which I was after. He proved this with his Gr.1 two-year-old victory in the Sires’ Produce. I look forward to seeing his progeny in coming years.” – Michael Wallace, China Horse Club

Bremer Babe is by Thorn Park. She is the half-sister to stakes winner Caiguna. Bremer Babe’s grand dam, All Washed Up is an 11-time winner and also a stakes winner.

Bremer Babe has strong bloodlines on both sides of the family including Nureyev, Scenic and Sadler’s Wells.

Gai has gone on to achieve as much as humanly possible with racehorses. While many would rest on their laurels after such success, Gai simply wants to win more and more. Owners can rest assured that the Lady Trainer wants to win races just as much if not more than they do! Confirmation of this dedication to excellence came after just fifteen years of training when Gai was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame (2007). As we stand, in just over 20 years of training, Gai has amassed over 135 Group One wins and currently sits third on the all-time list (Group One winners) behind T.J. Smith and Bart Cummings.

By far Gai’s greatest achievements have been recorded in the best races of the year in both Melbourne and Sydney. Gai has won Sydney’s two best races, the Golden Slipper and Doncaster Handicap six and seven times respectively. Gai is by far the most successful trainer ever in the Sydney Spring. ‘Make hay while the sun shines’ is a phrase one often can hear Gai quoting. This attitude is reflected by Gai’s results in the best races contested during the Sydney Spring Carnival. The Flight Stakes (7 wins), the Epsom Handicap (7 wins) and the Metropolitan Handicap (8 wins) have become races at the mercy of Gai each and every year.

Gai gives each and every horse that comes into her care every possible chance to succeed. Only six horses in the history of Sydney racing have won the two-year-old Triple Crown and Gai has trained two of them (Dance Hero 2004 and Pierro 2012). Gai in fact has won more Group One races for two-year-olds than any other trainer.

Gai Waterhouse has had 1962 winner to date with a great career strike rate of 19% including 114 at Group 1 level.
