I was thrilled when I secured this filly for a price I considered to be under the odds. The progeny of Deep Field had been highly sought after at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale which flowed through to the Inglis Classic Sale. He is a highly regarded sire. His yearlings averaged $294,375 at the Gold Coast with the most expensive going for $1,000,000.


Deep Field started his stud career in a blaze of glory being the Leading Second Season Sire By Winners in Australia in Season 2019/20. He was also the leading sire of 3yo winners in Australia which was an extraordinary result for a sire from his first crop of foals ahead of the likes of Fastnet Rock, Snitzel, I Am Invincible and Redoute’s Choice.


I loved his progeny when I first saw them but the ones I liked were too expensive. He was very well marketed when his progeny hit the sales. I was keen to secure one for the right money and eventually found a chestnut filly in Perth I really liked and bought her for $55,000. This was Fituese who is Deep Field’s most winning daughter. She is an outstanding mare.


The picture tells a great story. This is a stunning filly. She is incredibly athletic and a great walker. She has a terrific hindquarter which is highlighted in the video of her being sold. She oozes class, has a beautiful head and has a great presence about her.


Paeroa Gold is by Magnus who is a very well performed son of Flying Spur who was a Champion Broodmare Sire himself. Paeroa Gold has had two to race for a winner with her other foal placed at two behind the highly promising stakes winner Flying Missile. Her mating with Deep Field is by far her best.


Magnus has done a good job as a broodmare sire with Mizzy, Unite And Conquer and Flying Missile out of his daughters. He has had 33 winners from just 62 foals to race out of his daughters. Paeroa Gold is a ½ sister to the Group 3 winner Ability and is closely related to the Group 2 winner Well Rounded.


I highly recommend this filly and have paid her up for the rich Inglis Race Series. She heads to John Thompson who has done a great job for us training the multiple stakes winning Deep Field mare Fituese, the ill-fated stakes winning filly and Extreme Choice’s best 2yo filly Xtremetime and the highly promising Deep Field filly Tillotson.
