Darley buys 50 per cent of Hallowed Crown

Thursday 23 October 2014, 12:39pm

Darley Australia has secured a 50 per cent stake in Golden Rose winner Hallowed Crown.

The breeding arm of Sheikh Mohammed's global racing operation Godolphin, Darley announced the acquisition on Thursday.

The Bart and James Cummings-trained three-year-old is a grandson of Darley's champion stallion Street Cry.

But the colt won't swap his red and black Gooree colours for Godolphin's royal blue silks, or change trainers.

Darley Australia managing director Henry Plumptre said they would race Hallowed Crown in partnership with Gooree and the colt would join the Darley stallion roster at the end of his racing career.
