Harrison pondering appeal against ban

Sunday 19 October 2014, 3:45pm

Tegan Harrison will decide in the next couple of days whether to appeal either of the two suspensions which could ruin her Melbourne spring carnival aspirations.

Harrison is free to ride Temple of Boom in the Group One Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday.

However, she is set to miss the Melbourne Cup carnival at Flemington after being hit with two consecutive seven-day suspensions.

Harrison was outed for seven meetings for causing interference during her winning ride on Ten Speed at Ipswich last Wednesday.

That suspension starts after Friday night's racing and is completed on November 2.

At an adjourned inquiry held on Saturday, Queensland stewards then found her guilty of causing interference on Nada To Prada at the Sunshine Coast a day earlier.

That ban starts on November 2 and ends on November 14.

All going well, Temple Of Boom will run in the Darley Classic on November 8 after the Manikato.

Harrison has developed an affinity with the Tony Gollan-trained sprinter over recent months, winning the Group Two Victory Stakes aboard Temple Of Boom and finishing second in the Group One Doomben 10,000 and Stradbroke Handicap.

Temple Of Boom was treated for a respiratory problem after his fifth in the Bobbie Lewis at Flemington when he failed to show his customary dash to the line.
