A daughter of two horses who won at Group One level down the Flemington straight is nominated to make her debut at the famous track in Melbourne's first juvenile race of the season.

Helford River is one of two youngsters from the Gai Waterhouse stable nominated for Saturday's Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes (1000m).

Helford River is by Fastnet Rock out of Headway and finished second in her heat at the official two-year-old trials at Randwick last week.

Fastnet Rock won the 2005 Group One Lightning Stakes at Flemington as a three-year-old while Headway claimed the 2009 Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Waterhouse has Medaglia D'Oro filly Mali Rose among the 16 nominations for the Flemington race.

Mali Rose was third in her 840m heat at Randwick on September 22.

David Hayes and Tom Dabernig have three nominations.

Lake Jackson and Reemah both finished second in Cranbourne barrier trials last week, while Sullivan Bay won a trial at Tatura earlier this month.

Sullivan Bay is also nominated for a two-year-old race in Adelaide.

Reemah is a filly by Redoute's Choice out of the well-performed Vormista.

Sydney will also stage its first two-year-old races of the season with the Gimcrack Stakes for fillies and Breeders' Plate for colts and geldings on the Epsom/Metropolitan program.
