Dual Group One winner Samaready retired

Dual Group One winner Samaready has been retired to stud and will be served this season by All Too Hard.

The Mick Price-trained Samaready finished ninth as favourite in her return to the races at Caulfield on Saturday in a Group Three sprint, prompting her connections to make the decision to retire the mare.

Vinery Stud, which owns Samaready, announced on Twitter on Sunday that the five-year-old had run her last race and would go to Vinery stallion All Too Hard this spring.

A brilliant juvenile, Samaready won four of her five starts as a two-year-old including the 2012 Group One Blue Diamond Stakes and was third to Pierro in the Golden Slipper.

The daughter of More Than Ready missed almost all of her three-year-old season but returned as a four-year-old and added another Group One win when successful in the Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley a year ago.

The 2013 Moir Stakes was Samaready's final racetrack win and she finished her career with six victories from 13 starts and more than $1.6 million prize money.
