Field of 15 declared for Golden Rose

Tuesday 9 September 2014, 9:28am

The well supported Better Land is safely in the field for Saturday's $1 million Golden Rose at Rosehill.

Fifteen acceptances were taken on Tuesday for Sydney's first Group One race of the season.

With a field capacity of 18, the Peter Moody-trained Better Land was in danger of missing out but several higher qualified runners were not declared.

Moody will also have Golden Slipper placegetter Bring Me The Maid in the race which is restricted to three-year-olds.

Newcastle trainer Paul Perry has two runners, Scratch Me Lucky and Modoc while Gerald Ryan will be represented by Ygritte and Bachman and Godolphin has Kumaon and Sarajevo.
