La Amistad has been installed as favourite to win the $400,000 Metropolitan and join her famous sibling Makybe Diva as a Group One winner.

The Hawkes Racing-trained mare heads betting on the premier staying race of the Sydney spring carnival at $4.60 from her stablemate Entirely Platinum at $8.

La Amistad drew attention to her spring prospects with a hat-trick of wins at the end of autumn.

Her sequence culminated in an effortless McKell Cup win over the Metropolitan course.

A three-quarter sister to three-time Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva, La Amistad return to racing with an eye-catching minor placing in a Listed race over 1600m at Hawkesbury last week.

Entirely Platinum boasts a promising strike-rate of six wins from 13 starts and he started his spring campaign on a bright note with a 1400-metre win at Rosehill on August 16.

The Chris Waller-trained stablemates Hawkspur and Junoob share the third line of Metropolitan betting at $11.

Gai Waterhouse's trio of imported stayers, Bonfire, Excess Knowledge and Greatwood are among six horses on the third line of betting at $15.
