Singo's More Joyous delivers Frankel filly

Saturday 2 August 2014, 2:46pm

Star mare More Joyous has safely delivered her first foal, a filly by champion Frankel bred to southern hemisphere time.

She is the first of a select number of Australasian mares served by the unbeaten Frankel after he finished his first northern hemisphere season.

John Singleton sent More Joyous and More Strawberries to England late last year for the matings.

The More Joyous filly was born on Friday, August 1, the official birthday of southern hemisphere horses.

Gai Waterhouse trained More Joyous to eight Group One wins but the mare was retired after her unplaced run in last year's All Aged Stakes which prompted a falling out between trainer and owner.

Singleton has reportedly said the filly is not for sale.
