Crazyonyou to carry Cummings hopes

Friday 23 November 2012, 6:03pm

Anthony Cummings has lost one horse from his Rosehill team but the outlook for success remains promising.

Lameness has forced Cummings to scratch outsider Glare from the Ascend Sales Trophies Handicap (2000m) on Saturday.

However, there is growing confidence the Randwick yard will be suitably rewarded when regally-bred filly Crazyonyou makes her debut in the Goldners Horse Transport Handicap (1100m).

Crazyonyou is closing in on another first starter, the Gai Waterhouse-trained Certitude, for favouritism after Cummings decided she had taken no harm from a barrier trial win on Monday.

The superbly bred Encosta De Lago filly is out of Sarasota, a full-sister to boom sire Fastnet Rock.

"She had a trial earlier in the week which was very good," Cummings said.

"She showed good ability there and she's improved from that."

Former Queensland mare Our Design rounds out Cummings's team when she resumes in the Austbrokers "HQ of Insurance" Handicap (1300m).

At her only run for Cummings in April, Our Design finished second to subsequent Queensland Oaks runner-up Eliza Blues but injured herself in the run and had to be spelled.

On a track rated in the good range late on Friday, the Paul Murray-trained Alma's Fury was the only other early withdrawal from Rosehill.

Alma's Fury is also an acceptor for Sunday's $100,000 Goulburn Cup for which he is a $13 chance in a market headed by the Patinack Farm galloper Isopach at $6.
