Another 2YO Runner for BlueBlood Thoroughbreds

Wednesday 18 June 2014, 4:52pm

Snitzel Blitz will be the 4th 2YO runner for BlueBlood this season when she debuts at Donald tomorrow in Race 2 - 12:35PM Evergreen Turf F&M Maiden Plate (1204 METRES).

Trained by Mick Price, she heads into this race off the back of a nice trial win at the Caulfield Jumpouts on the 10th of June.

Mick Price stated in his pre-race comments “We have had good success with the 2YO’s in these 2YO & Up Maiden Plates and if she does run through the line strongly she gets her winning chance. I expect her run well and finish in the first 3 here against these on debut.”

It is quite an achievement for Blueblood to get four 2YO runners this season, considering only 7 yearlings were purchased by the team in 2013. Of those 7 yearlings purchased, yet another 2YO named Blakjak Paperback looks very likely to race early next month.

Trainer Chris Waller will give him a second trial on Monday before sending him to the races early July, making him the 5th 2YO runner this season.

Of the remaining two 2YO’s, is Madam Zabeel, who was bought specifically for the 3YO classic races and was never expected to race as a 2YO, and Ready To Run who showed a great deal of ability early but unfortunately bled only a few weeks before he was set to race.

It just goes to show that our selection process is second to none in the industry and our team of experts do an outstanding job in selecting athletic, well-conformed, precocious 2YO types.

We wish our Owners in Snitzel Blitz all the best tomorrow and hopefully she can start her career off on a winning note.
