Life changing bet for bin cleaner

Tuesday 27 May 2014, 7:49pm

Wheelie-bin cleaner Craig Brazier has been named as one of the eight winners of last weekend's bumper Scoop6 payout.

Brazier, a STG2 ($A3.65) Betfred betting shop punter, became one of Britain's biggest individual winners when he pocketed a staggering STG1,342,599 ($A2.45 million) after the Alan King-trained Chatez scored in the final leg at Haydock.

The 39-year-old, who has vowed to carry on cleaning bins, could land a further STG5,481,763 ($A10 million) by picking the winner of this weekend's bonus race.

The father-of-two placed his bet following a visit to his local fishing-tackle shop.

Left with two pounds in his pocket, Craig popped into the nearby Betfred shop to play the Scoop6 for only the third time and picked all six winners.

"I'd spent most of my money on fishing gear, but I had two pounds in my pocket so I nipped into the Betfred shop as I knew there was a huge rollover," Brazier said.

"It was only the third time I'd played the Scoop6 and I had four winners the week before.

"I went home to watch the racing and started panicking after I got three out of three.

"I couldn't see the telly for the last leg because I was running up and down the room riding Chatez home.

"I went absolutely berserk when he won and I was still up at 4am wondering if it had really happened.

"On Sunday I went fishing to let it all sink in, but all I caught was some sleep on the bank.'
