Miracles Of Life team set to part company

Even the best rides must come to an end.

For trainer Daniel Clarken and jockey Lauren Stojakovic, the ride of a lifetime will be over when Miracles Of Life finishes Saturday's Group One Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville.

Miracles Of Life took Clarken and Stojakovic from Adelaide to a triumph for the battlers in last year's Group One Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield.

Dubbed `Barbie' by Stojakovic, Miracles Of Life thrashed her rivals in four two-year-old runs to thrust jockey and trainer into the national racing spotlight.

"She's taken us to places we have always dreamed of going," Clarken said.

But the filly's owner, businessman Muzaffar Yaseen, has decided to sell Miracles Of Life, along with more than 80 other horses, at the Gold Coast in June.

Miracles Of Life will join close relations to Redoute's Choice and other well-bred performers in the sale while Clarken will be left with memories of the experience.

"Before the Blue Diamond, things weren't fantastic financially and she's helped me out amazingly," Clarken said.

"I've learnt plenty from her too by travelling to Melbourne and dealing with the media and a whole host of other things."

Miracles Of Life has a $400,000 race to win before leaving for Queensland and the filly must break a 14-month drought to provide a dream farewell.

Second placings at Listed level at her last two runs have convinced Clarken he has the three-year-old in prime condition for her tough assignment but bad luck has intervened.

"She's flying as her last two runs have been fantastic," Clarken said.

"Heading into yesterday I thought we're a massive chance but the barrier draw (14) hasn't helped us too much."

Clarken conceded the best bet of the day, irrespective of the result, was that he and Stojakovic would shed a tear when `Barbie' returns to scale.
