Dundeel to stand for $27,500 at Arrowfield

Tuesday 22 April 2014, 8:54am

The just-retired It's A Dundeel will stand for $27,500 in his first season at Arrowfield Stud under his original name of Dundeel.

His racing name was changed to avoid confusion with the much less well-known Done Deal.

The four-year-old ended his career on a high, claiming his sixth Group One title in Saturday's $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick.

Managing owner John Messara, the proprietor of Arrowfield Stud, announced his retirement on Monday.

By High Chaparral out of Zabeel mare Stareel, Dundeel won 10 of his 19 races and more than $5.3 million in the care of New Zealand trainer Murray Baker.

Champion sire Redoute's Choice heads the Arrowfield roster for 2014 at $110,000 reduced from $137,500 while his son Snitzel's fee has increased from $49,500 to $71,500.

Snitzel produced his first Group One winners this season with Shamus Award taking the Cox Plate and Snitzerland the Lightning Stakes.

The star performer for Redoute's Choice has been triple Group One winning sprinter Lankan Rupee.

Not A Single Doubt, another son of Redoute's Choice, remains at $33,000 while All American will again stand at $16,500.

Dubai World Cup winner Animal Kingdom will stand his second season at $33,000 with his first foals due in the spring.
