Earthquake draws out in G1 Golden Slipper

Tuesday 1 April 2014, 12:33pm

Golden Slipper favourite Earthquake has drawn a wide gate for the $3.5 million race.

One of three runners for Darley Australia, Earthquake came up with barrier 13 in the 16-horse field at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Blue Diamond Stakes winner will move in one stall if the first reserve Scratch Me Lucky doesn't gain a start.

Her Darley stablemates Ghibellines and Memorial have drawn barriers two and 17 respectively.

Second favourite Mossfun has gate 11 while Magic Millions winner Unencumbered has drawn alongside Earthquake in gate 14.

Darley spokesman Jason Walsh isn't concerned about Earthquake's alley.

"She's very versatile and is obviously the benchmark two-year-old going around at present," he said.
