Khutulun Bolts In On Debut

Monday 24 March 2014, 1:53pm

Maiden wins simply don't come much better...

It was all smiles today at Kyneton as patience paid off first up for a fantastic group of owners! 3yo Soldier's Tale filly Khutulun has not been without her problems leading into her first start as a 3yo and when she toyed with them on debut over 1200m it made all the waiting well worth it.

Jumping from a wide gate Khutulun was caught deep the entire trip over the unsuitable 1200m but put them to the sword at the turn giving nothing else a chance, even running greenly up the straight when winning by 2.5 lengths going away from them.

Being from a dam who's siblings include stakes-winning stayers Blackfriars, Larrocha, Monton, Waterford Road and Lion's Gate, we aren't expecting to see her best until she stretches out closer to 2000m but she's already done what most of them couldn't by winning at 1200m so we look forward to seeing just what lies ahead for Khutulun and her owners!
