Symons out of Valley meet through injury

Friday 21 March 2014, 4:54pm

A trackwork mishap has ruled jockey Chris Symons out of Friday night's William Reid Stakes meeting and has him in doubt for Sandown on Saturday.

Symons relinquished Moonee Valley rides, including outsider Gig in the William Reid Stakes, after he hurt his shoulder in what he described as a minor tumble on Friday morning.

He is booked for three Sandown rides including two imports for premier Sydney trainer Chris Waller who are due to have their first Australian starts.

They are Only A Pleasure and also Our Voodoo Prince who is a son of champion European racemare Ouija Board.

Symons will leave a decision on Sandown until he has fitness test on Saturday morning.
