Injury puts Secret Harmony career on hold

Wednesday 19 March 2014, 4:37pm

The racing career of consistent three-year-old Secret Harmony hangs in the balance.

Secret Harmony injured his off front leg when unplaced in a Gold Coast race last Saturday.

"He was making a strong run when he got a bump coming around the home turn and Tim (jockey Tim Bell) could feel him go," trainer Kelly Schweida said.

"The leg has swelled right up and it will probably be Monday before it goes down enough to see how bad it is."

Secret Harmony had been looming as a genuine Queensland Derby chance.

"I am hoping he will race again but things are a bit grim at the moment," Schweida said.

Schweida revealed the extent of Secret Harmony's problem after his galloper Miss Righteous won at Doomben on Wednesday.

Righteous Miss ($8.50) put a smile on Schweida's face when she won the Hidden Dragon @ Lyndhurst Handicap at her second run for the stable.

Schweida said the addition of blinkers was the key to turning around the form of Righteous Miss.

Meanwhile, trainer Stu Kendrick will send Lightfeet Lady back to Saturday racing after she won the NTI Handicap.

Lightfeet Lady has now won 11 races and $160,000 in prize money.
