Lightly raced mare Splash Of Moet has made a winning start for her new stable, landing a handy betting move at Bendigo on Saturday.

Having her first start for premier Melbourne trainer Peter Moody, four-year-old Splash Of Moet finished down the outside in the Daiquiri King Handicap to defeat Schumacher ($18) by a long neck with a short head to favourite Rich Jack ($1.90) in third.

Splash Of Moet, formerly trained by Mark Minervini in South Australia, firmed from $6 to $4.40 before claiming her fourth win from nine starts.

"She's a nice mare going forward," jockey Luke Nolen said.

"Placed to advantage, we're going to have a bit of fun with her."

Splash Of Moet settled back in the field and was second last turning for home with Rich Jack leading and Schumacher wide on speed.

Nolen got the mare into the clear in the straight and she wound up to arrive in time on the outside.

"I haven't had a lot to do with her at home but so far what I've seen of her I've been impressed with," Nolen said.
