No Problem win poses a dilemma for Treloar

Saturday 8 March 2014, 2:34pm

Super-consistent galloper No Problem left trainer Len Treloar with a dilemma when he won a rough-house Councillors Cup at Doomben on Saturday.

Treloar has been planning to spell No Problem for the past month but the two-year-old keeps staving off a break with his bright form.

"I have been saying for longer than I care to think that I want to spell No Problem and then geld him," Treloar said.

"But how can I when he is racing like that.

"He seems to be tapped into some type of power source and is a bundle of energy. All he wants to do is race."

Treloar is now considering whether to keep No Problem going or ease him with the winter carnival in mind.

"It is a real dilemma and we will have to make a decision in the next week," he said.

No Problem ($3.60) scored by a half length to Shadowside ($7.50) with a short neck to Melanya ($31).

Meanwhile, Toowoomba trainer Matt Kropp made a rare trip to the city to win with Kiss Me Deadly in The Gap Handyman Handicap (1600m).

"We bought Kiss Me Deadly cheaply just before Christmas for a group of work mates from the gas fields in western Queensland and he has more than paid his way," Kropp said.

Kiss Me Deadly was formerly trained by Rex Lipp who had unplaced favourite Sparkling Sound in the race.
