Boss wins three in a row at Flemington

Saturday 1 March 2014, 3:28pm

Glen Boss continued to capitalise on a strong book of rides with his third win in consecutive Flemington races on talented mare Angels Beach on Saturday.

Boss finished third on fancied runner More Radiant in the opener at Flemington before notching three straight wins on Saint Or Sinner, Cooldini and then Angels Beach in the Mrs Mac's Beef Pie Sprint (1100m).

Angels Beach's trainer Peter Moody will now set about getting the lightly raced mare a stakes win.

"You've just got to pick your mark to get that bit of black type because I think she's deserved of it," Moody said.

"She's building a pretty good record and that's the next step for her now."

Angels Beach made it four wins from seven starts and two from two this preparation as she stalked the leader Elite Elle in the straight-track sprint.

The four-year-old defeated the resuming You're So Good ($11) by 1-1/2 lengths with a head to Red Fez ($9) third.

Boss said he knew Elite Elle would take him into the race and was impressed by the way Angels Beach put the race away.

"She sat back off Elite Elle and waited for me to press the button. She was quite impressive," Boss said.

Trainer Nigel Blackiston was encouraged by the return of You're So Good who finished runner-up in the Group One Australian Guineas on the corresponding program last year but went winless in the spring.
