Buffering impresses in Doomben jump-out

Thursday 20 February 2014, 2:05pm

BRISBANE Feb 20 AAP - Trainer Robert Heathcote couldn't have been happier with the effort of star galloper Buffering in his first serious hit-out heading to the Sydney autumn.

Buffering had a jump-out at Doomben on Thursday and showed he was on course for the Challenge Stakes at Randwick on March 15.

"Tony Gollan had his smart sprinters Rocket To Glory and Temple of Boom in the hit-out and Buffering was able to lead them home without ever being let down by (jockey) Damian (Browne)," Heathcote said.

"He said Buffering had a good blow after the hit-out which would do him the world of good.

"We couldn't be happier at this stage with him. He will have one more jump-out in two weeks and then head to Sydney."

Buffering's main aim in Sydney is the $2.5 million TJ Smith Stakes (1200m) on April 12.
