First Winner for Floral Dynamite

Thursday 29 July 2010, 5:27pm

Floral Dynamite had his first winner on Tuesday when Floral Insight scored an impressive win in the Hahn Super Dry 2yo Maiden Plate (1007m) at Taree.

At only his 3rd start, the 2yo Gelding scored impressively by two lengths from the Playful Miss with Sniptem an additional five lengths further back in third place.

Floral Insight is trained locally by Jim Delaney who also bred the gelding.

Floral Dynamite only covered 8 mares last year at his first season at stud.  His only other runner to date is Nitrosen who has been placed at Gosford from only a few starts.

Floral Dynamite was an outstanding race horse, winning 6 races in the most competitive arena in the world, Hong Kong. A winner at 2, 3, 4 and 5, his best result came when running 2nd in the Group 1 Hong Kong Gold Cup, beating home the multiple stakes winning mare Elegant Fashion.

Mr Ian McRobert told bloodstock that he was extremely happy that Floral Dynamite had been able to get a 2yo winner from his first crop, especially considering he only served a small number of mares.  All the reports are that they go well and are only going to get better as they get older and over more ground.

Floral Dynamite has had a much bigger book of mares in the last couple of seasons and really stamps his progeny.  He throws some lovely types and you can expect to see a few of them here on bloodstock shortly.

Floral Dynamite stands for a fee of $3000 and is nominated for BOBS. He stands alongside Manton (first crop are rising 2yo) and the 2.5 Million Dollar Redoute’s Choice horse Killy who is a half-brother to Snowland and Snippetson.
