Double to Joe Pride on home track

Saturday 11 January 2014, 6:26pm

Let's Rock'n'Roll has given trainer Joe Pride a home track double at Warwick Farm to set up a trip to Melbourne for a tilt at stakes company.

Sir Berus won a 1400m race before the grey sprinter ran his rivals ragged over 1000 metres.

"I always enjoy racing at home. The horses don't have to travel in the heat and I definitely think it's an advantage," Pride said.

"There's a 1000 metre Listed race at Caulfield in three weeks and I think we will take him there.

"He might also be the sort of horse to have a go at that 955 metre challenge at Moonee Valley and win me a car."

Kathy O'Hara picked up the ride on Let's Rock'n'Roll when Josh Parr was half a kilogram from making the weight.

The win also brought up a double for O'Hara who scored on the Guy Walter-trained Divertire who turned her form around from an unplaced run at Rosehill a week earlier.

Stewards questioned the trainer over the mare's reversal but he pointed out the leader bias was against her last week.

"Rosehill - leaders' hill," Walter said.

"It's been a leaders' track for six months."
