New favourite for $2m Gold Coast feature

Saturday 28 December 2013, 5:57pm

Unencumbered was promoted to a clear favourite for next month's Magic Millions Classic after his Doomben win on Saturday.

The Sydney colt had been third favourite in markets before his win in the Group Three B J McLachlan Stakes but was lifted to a clear $4 top pick.

Invisible, who was a Canterbury winner on Saturday, is second favourite at $5.50 while Saturday's Melbourne winner Chivalry is now at $8.

Chivalry is rated as unlikely to contest the race.

Echo Gal and Oakleigh Girl, who had been equal Magic Millions favourites before the McLachlan, eased right out in updated betting.

Oakleigh Girl is now at $12 with Echo Gal at $17.
